Michael Hall has literally worked in every area of construction. In 1998 at the age of sixteen, he began working as a construction laborer for a local general contractor who built homes from the ground up using few subcontractors. Mike (his friends call him Mikie) learned concrete work, framing, plumbing, roofing, tile, and, of course, electrical work. After the builder retired Mike went to work for K&K Electrical, an Amador County contractor, who also specialized in commercial and residential electrical work. Mike spent five years working directly under the owner learning everything there was to know about commercial and residential electrical projects, having worked on numerous Amador County wineries, school districts, commercial buildings, and residences.
When the owner of K&K retired Mike went to work for Rex Moore Electric. The company specialized in large commercial projects throughout California such as hospitals and schools. Mike’s duties included installation of transformers, switchgears, panel boards, generators, pipe racks, raceways, pull boxes, lighting, power, voice data, fire alarms, and equipment use. The work involved all voltages of electricity and all types of service work.
After three years with Rex Moore Mike went to work for Air & Lube Systems, Inc. and has worked for them for the last eight years. Since the company needed a certified electrician, Michael immediately earned the coveted Certified Electrician designation. The company had over 200 employees and Mike was the only certified electrician. As a result, he worked throughout the west coast installing electrical systems for large organizations such as B.A.R.T, San Francisco Airport, Cal-Trans, CHP, fire departments, Knapheide, MV Transit, and Mercedes-Benz. Mike was self-directed on most of the projects, working with little or no supervision. The majority of the projects were rigidly controlled by unions and building inspectors, thus requiring a high degree of electrical expertise. Mike worked with all types of conduit, switchboards, transformers, switchgears, control wiring, motors, lighting, and control circuits. He worked on the installation of automated car washes, train washes, bus washes, airplane washes, and all types of automated equipment, car hoists, air compressors, pumps, reclaimed water systems, automatic oil systems, and automated parking systems. He was flown to China by his company to learn advanced methods of constructing multi-level car parking structures. He troubleshoots systems for Air and Lube and maintains the operation of equipment and components.
In 2019 Michael applied for and received the California C10 Electrician's License and began taking his incredible skill set back to his home in Amador County. There is no job too big or small for him. He is honest, hardworking, and reasonably priced. He develops a good rapport with his clients and always shows up on time.
